Default Amazon Fifty Percent Off Sale

Save 50% on Blu-ray Hits. No idea how long this will run for:

Been a while since an Amazon sale has tempted me to start another Blu-ray binge. Think I'll just wait until some newer releases can be had cheaper (ie. Quantum of Solace, Bourne Trilogy, Fast & Furious Trilogy).

Is this a sale or a joke?
26 tedious titles all seen before...
The distinct lack of imagination and implied contempt for people's intelligence at present , to call this a "sale" , beggars belief.
The only amazon offering real value at the moment is the .co.uk one.
Good and plenty of variety 3 for 2 sales and even an unintentional 3 for 1 that lasted a whole day. Also great deals on single titles and often box sets.

This must be a sale for new suckers only.

Most of these titles had been sold at Fry's for $9.99 before.
Marking it up to $30 then calling it 50% off sale is indeed a test of early adopters' intelligence.

rpm, i wouldn't call it marking it up to 30, per se. amazon %'s are always based on total discount vs list price, not discount vs normal selling price on amazon. so if a title was only 33% off normally, they'd say "40% off X title" and it'd just be that little smidgen more off.

they do the exact same thing in the goldbox. "Save 70% off X product" when the goldbox is only 30%, and the title already have a 40% discount.

but yeah, not a strong sale. but everyone starts their collection somewhere. I know some people who have had 500 to 800 blu-rays before my father even had one.

the Target BOGO price match (14.99 titles) is a better deal on newer titles, but this is a studio sale (Paramount). lately, there's been quite a bit of Paramount sales.

I was looking for a Page 2 only to realize that is "all she wrote."

I dunno, it's got some pretty good deals. I think I'm going to pick up Zodiac, The Truman Show, Old School, and Election.

Ordered the Mission Impossible trilogy. Didn't want to pay $90 when the blu boxset first came out but $37.99 is too good to pass up considering I've been meaning to upgrade from my DVD copies.

it's a joke, too bad it's not funny.
amazon has been loosing me as a customer, there was a time when I would order everything from them because they had the best prices but that is far from the case now.

I hadn't seen it 'all' before.
Managed to grab Godfather collection, classic films I have had on my todo list for a while

I just started my collection at Christmas and there are some pretty good deals. I'm gonna get Kung Fu Panda and Iron Man, at 15 each it's a great deal.

Zodiac is a great movie; saw it in the local theater and have it on my buy list, but at $15 or less, not $18. It'll get there; I'm patient and have plenty of others to watch. If iNetvideo.com lists it, it'll likely get down to the $12 range and maybe less; I just got "Mongol" there brand new for $10.

Zodiac's worth a buy, but it'll get less expensive. I did finally pop for the Mission Impossible set at $38 - that's in my target price range at about $12.50 each.

May I ask where you are getting better prices?
