Ordered on 12/30 got it on 1/5 (and I'm on the west coast), that's better than most of stuff I order from the US Amazon . I actually liked the packaging and it arrived in good condition. I'd say it's a great deal.

I ordered on 1/2/09 and just got an e-mail today saying that my order has dispached, no idea how long it will take from here.

The price just went down on Amazon.co.uk to 20.97 Pounds, 18.23 pounds after they take out the VAT for international purchase.

Fair warning; The construction quality of the UK 5-disc set isn't anywhere near as good as the usual 4-disc set available in the US. The cardboard is very thin and the disc trays are made of fairly flimsy plastic. The set is similar to the US DVD set, except... crappier.

Many people who ordered the HD DVD version found sets that were pretty banged up in transit. My first set was demolished and the replacement Amazon sent out still had a number of dings.

This is why I just went ahead a bought the US BBC blu-ray edition. I don't like to buy crappy things.

As long as my discs are in good condition I can just stick them into my US HD DVD Planet Earth case that is collecting dust!

My copy arrived today. Looks and plays great! I have no idea why some people hate the case so much ... it's fine. It's light weight but actually looks MUCH better than the regular version, add a extra disc of material and buying this was a no brainer! Thanks again for posting the link to this great deal.

well I got mine in the mail yesterday 1/15 not bad for using the cheapest shipping option. package was in perfect shape.

I completely agree with you about the case. Yeah ok, its a little flimsy, but overall the coverart looks more attractive and the layout of all the discs side-by-side look great. Happy I made this double dip after just owning the HD version for so long
