on slickdeals people are adding movies and then keep checking the player. Seems they keep coming back in stock.....so assuming they are checking their inventory. I believe this deal runs through the 14th of Dec though. Just add the movies if interested and keep checking the player.

Pretty awesome deal!

I've had bad luck with Samsung electronics in the past, so I'm a bit nervous about jumping on this even though the price is really good.

NO, the Samsung BD1500 is a 2.0 player. Most players out of the box need to be updated to the newer firmware to enable BD Live, and you'll also need at least a 1 GB USB 'thumb' drive to support BD Live.

As to "how good is this samsung player", Samsungs seem to be a little more problematic with needed firmware updates for the java and BD+ discs that Fox/MGM blesses us with.

here is a break down of Cnet reviews

The good:
Relatively inexpensive compared with other standalone units; very good image quality on most Blu-ray Discs; onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and bit stream output for all high-resolution audio formats; Ethernet port for firmware updates; Samsung claims it will update the unit to add Profile 2.0 support and onboard DTS-HD Master Audio decoding in the future.

The bad:
Does not currently support Profile 2.0 or have onboard DTS-HD Master Audio decoding; Blu-ray image quality could be better; DVD playback will disappoint videophiles; no analog multichannel outputs; some annoying operational glitches; operational speed still sluggish compared with PS3.

The bottom line:
The Samsung BD-P1500 lacks some features and doesn't perform as well as the PlayStation 3, but its relatively low price makes it a solid option for those few people on a budget who still demand a standalone Blu-ray player.

yeah an older review. I know it was updated to 2.0 though. And like cochise said, just need a drive.

Sold out on amazon now. Only can get it from 6ave. Hopefully they will get more in though. Just keep the movies in the cart if you are looking!

got mine for my parents and giving them 7 movies and keeping one batman for myself...I have been waiting for a upgrade from hd dvd.

still, can't beat the price and a great xmas present.

yeah, this is an amazing deal. i have to buy a new HD box from directv next week, but i dont see how i can turn this deal down if the players become available again.
