Default CANADIAN Columbia House thread

we're getting lots of cross chatter, deals that users can't get freaking them out, so let's just split them. Here's a thread for Canadian Columbia House members, as they have exclusive titles, exclusive deals, and there is no cross-site collaboration between them.

Good Idea.
I will start with this.
It says that I get 60% off and only showing 50% in cart. Anyone else get this before?

On a side note, i had also emailed Columbiahouse Canada in regards to the availability of Dodgeball and Wedding Crashers, and it looks like only Wedding Crashers is in the system as being available and that will apparently be on Feb 3/09

Im still waiting for my 6 entry dvds...5 weeks and counting tomorrow...I emailed them 2 weeks ago and they said to contact customer service if I dont get it in another 6 weeks...I was able to get my account number off them in time to get the 60% off sale though...

It will be funny if the ones I ordered come before the entry ones...oh well cant beat the price!

The 60% off sale works again now. I just put in my 3rd order of 8+ under the 60% off sale in the last couple of weeks. It's a better deal than a BOGO.

Actually i think the BOGO is the better deal. Because the one title you're paying for in the b1g1 you still arn't paying full price for it you're paying their dicsounted price. I think you'd have to buy ALOT at 60% too make it better than the bogo.

As info, I spotted at least two newly listed blu-ray pre-orders: Quarantine and The Mummy 3. There were a few more (title count went from 397 to 403) but not sure what ones. Also, Saw V was listed a few days ago as well for those interested in adding a few more pre-orders to your next round of 60% off orders.

Most regular priced blu-rays through CH are priced at $28.95 so the first title is $28.95 and all additional titles are $11.58. It does work out to be a better deal than a BOGO if you order enough titles. Since pre-orders are eligible for this promotion as well, it's not hard to put together a sizeable order.

I f'n love Columbia House!

Based on the price of most titles being 28.95...

If you buy 6 in total then it works out to $86.85 with the 60% deal. If you did 3 BOGO's then it would be $86.85.

If you buy 8 in total it works out to $110.01. 4 BOGO's works out to $115.80

So for 6 titles it is the same deal and anything from 7 Blu-rays and up will make it cheaper with the 60% deal than a BOGO.

I wish they had a way to sort by date added or somehow fine new ones. Some advanced search filters are needed for sure.

Select pre-orders from the left menu and then filter by date. Start from the last page and work your way back. That's the quickest and easiest way to spot newly added titles although they are mixed in with regular DVDs. Certainly room for improvement in that area.
