Ok you can't login - that's a different issue. The site is not down like you said though.

It does take a few days after they set it up before you can login. It was about a week for me. Hopefully it works for you soon.

I explained that to the rep and she said the site had been done for some time. Not just for letting me log in. It's been about 3 weeks since I got my first membership package. I'll keep trying though. Thanks for the input. Not to mention the fact that it wont let me send inquiries via thier email. It keeps saying 'Please provide a valid email address(only one email address).'
What a pain in the ass......

Long time reader, first time poster. I have had a pretty good experience with columbia house canada but recently that has changed. I missed out on cancelling the director's selection online so one was sent to me and was charged to my credit card. Immediately after receiving it (late-June) I returned it. I did not open it and put "return to sender" on the envelope. I contacted Columbia House last week by e-mail about it and I did not get an answer to the question I asked, so contacted them by phone and apparently they still have not received the DVD that I returned. In addition, the day after I e-mailed them I got another charge on my credit card which I inquired about when I contacted them and was told it was for July's Director Selection. However, immediately after getting the Director's Selection in June I cancelled through their website the next selection.

All that being said, what are my options? Am I able to go through my bank to get the charges charged back? I have asked them to bill me in the future rather than charging my card but it is now close to a month ago that I returned the first DVD for which I was charged.

I have "return to sender"d a handful of Blu-rays over the last few months and have never had an issue. I don't think you really have a leg to stand on as it's the postal service at fault, not Columbia House. You take that risk with RtS; you have no proof at all that you sent it. Mine all arrived safely there and were removed from my bill, but this seems like that rare occasion where something got lost in the mail.

As far as the director's selections go, those things are a pain in the ass, but as soon as you fulfill your purchase agreement, it disappears.

There's still a chance your disc arrived safely and they just have yet to process the return, as they can be slow sometimes. Though none of mine took more than a couple of weeks

Hey there BigLebowski,

I've seen returns take up to 4 weeks before appearing in the CH system...perhaps there was a hold up at the post office. I'd check back with Customer Service again in about a week just to confirm. You always have the option of removing your credit card from being automatically billed just in case something like this happens again. If the return never comes back, then you should contact Customer Service and get them to mail you a Lost Claims form which will enable them to investigate with Canada Post and remove the charge from your credit card.

Hope this helps!

ILF.

yeah, same thing has just happened to me. but, I actually declined the selection and have email confirmation. yet the dvd (one week) still came. there is no way i'm going through the trouble of going to the post office and returning this at my expense as it's not my problem. i'm going to request a prepaid envelope and i'm willing to pack it up and drop it off in a mailbox, but that's it.

Hey Icy,

We were supposed to launch between October 1-5, but it's now been pushed back to November 1st. I think there will be a lot of improvements once we move over to this new platform

Thanks,
ILF.

Thanks

Next question... why no Ice Age 3 on either CH site?
