hey, thanks for the quick response! columbia house needs more people like you! i joined the dvd club at cloumbiahousecanada.com, but i can buy blu-rays, because that's what i signed up for. and i will only buy blu-rays with my account.

1. i can't get everything from your member catalog? the certificate stipulates i'm entitled to any title in the club catalog (boxsets and special editions excepted). i don't see it saying that i can only order enrollment titles...of which the selection is pretty bad. what if i end up ordering another title that is out of stock? is CH going to send me another cert? lol

2. alot of blu-ray titles seem to have a 8 digit selection # online, the cert has only 7 spaces for you to write it down. i noticed the same titles in the physical catalog having only a 6 digit #.

2. also i got 5 certs for 2 missing movies...can i use all five?

3. also, i just ordered a whole bunch of blu-rays tonight now that i'm a member. i'm not hopeful any of them are in stock. Wanted, cloverfield, ironman, speed racer, bank job, tropic thunder, pursuit of happiness. if you get a chance please let me know through private message if i'm not getting these titles, because if that's the case, i'm going to cancel the membership and ship back my enrollment titles...what's the point of all these great prices when CH seems to be out of stock on every blu-ray i want save a few movies from 15-20 years ago?

Again, thanks for your help. my frustration is not directed towards you, just how CH is doing business. displaying out of stock titles (especially on your initial enrollment list online) knowingly and then saying "too bad" order something else that you don't want is grinding me. it's not like there's a thousand titles to keep track of. ONLY 23! take it off once stock hits 0 or offer to send it first come first served when they do come back in stock.

anyways, i appreciate your help so far. maybe we can figure something out. Thanks again.
I've had a pretty good experience so far with my couple of orders from Columbiahouse Canada. I've received all my titles, including pre-orders such as Wanted, The Dark Knight, The Pineapple Express(Well it shipped out yesterday anyways). I had 3 titles that were Out of Stock, and of those, Kung Fu Panda just shipped a couple of days ago. I'm still waiting on The Incredible Hulk and Tropic Thunder, but was told in my email response that they would be getting them in fairly soon.

Hi MrPerfect,

I think it's along the same lines as what happened to BLUCanadian...if the order is sitting on hold for too long (say like 6-8 weeks), then the system will automatically cancel the order and shoot out that letter to you.

I just checked our Blu-ray stock and both titles are still available through the club, but they are just out of stock at the moment. I would suggest you contact Customer Service and let them know what sale they were ordered under and ask them to re-order them for you at the same price. Here is their email addy: cv_customer_service@columbiahousecanada.com (just remember to provide your acct # and any other pertinent details)

Hi again Vassili!

1. The "guide to symbols" is there to let you know which titles have restrictions on them. So if you refer to that guide, you can look for the special symbols to know what is allowed and what is not allowed for enrollment choices. But all titles can be used towards the monthly promos like Buy 1, Get Unlimited at 50% off (unless they are already permanently marked down).

2. If you are planning to select items off of the internet to put on certificates, just drop the last 2 digits of the selection number shown online. I realize that our certificates have spaces for 7 digits, but all of our selection numbers are actually only 6 digits long.

3. I'll send you a private response as requested...

By the way, I take no offense and really appreciate all the feedback I'm receiving from all of you...this helps us build a better company and relationship with our customers...

Something I REALLY hope you folks are adding is the ability to track an order online/order history... I've placed 2 orders, one Dec 22nd and another on Jan 1st. It would be nice to see what's happening with them without having to call.

With regards to ordering in stock titles with preorders, does the entire order get delayed until the preorder is due to be released?

No, each item will ship on its own when it becomes available

Online order status and also whether a title is really available would be very positive changes.

My experiences so far have been pretty good. Of the 41 titles (all Blu-rays except for 1) I've ordered from CH so far (including the initial selections) I have received all of them that have been released so far other than The Incredible Hulk and Wanted. I have 15 or so pre-orders left over the next 6-8 weeks. Once they all show up I will have fulfilled my commitment but I plan to hang around and watch for more great deals like the 60% off and free shipping ones.

My last amazon.com order (The Last Emperor) was received today so now it's between CH, Amazon.ca, and Walmart.

From a sofware perspective, this should be relatively easy to implement. If a CSR can view your order status, then just simply publish that info through the customer's account page for them to view it. It's very straight forward. Heck, almost all major online stores do this (Amazon, BestBuy, etc.).

Unfortunately, yes.

You should have received an "order received" email confirmation similar to this:

Thank you, XXXXXXX, for ordering from CHCanada.com. Your order has been received. Below you will find details about your current order. You may wish to print and save this confirmation for possible future reference.

Order ID: XXXX

Billing Information: (etc)

If only they would provide some kind of order status on their website people wouldn't feel in limbo like I know I do.

Hey westend604,

Are you sure that you completely checked out with your order? And has your credit card been billed by CH as yet?

Thanks!

I am personally done with columbia house canada.

I joined up online 5 for 5$ + 2 other selections. only 5 of my 7 blu's arrived and they only included one certificate, so I had to go through their automated service trying to find a live operator, did that, had to fight with the operator because they said I got 6 of my 7. They sent me a letter where I fill out the back of it what blu I want. I sent the letter, the cert,a copy of my invoice (showing I only got 5 of 7) a written statement explaining. and an order for 1 more blu.

so thats 3 blu's 2 which I was already charged for and 1 I would pay for. Yet wow surprise surprise I was charged for 2 for some reason (looking at my credit card statement) just waiting to see if all 3 actually show up.

Once they do I am calling up and canceling, it is such a shim sham operation. Heck I can not even log onto my online account.

This is getting more frustrating.

I placed on order from the 60% off promo, for SIX blurays, on Decembe 6th. So far, I've got 3 of them, but the other 3 (Incredible Hulk, Hellboy 2, Wanted) are temporarily out of stock. Two weeks ago, I got a reply from CS as well as a letter saying the items are temporarily out of stock but a new supply is expected shortly and will be sent immediately.

Then, "I_Love_Flicks" starts posting here (thanks for your help), and I gave her an email asking about the status of the missing movies. She forwarded to Customer Service only for me to get a reply saying the EXACT same thing as two weeks ago (are they just being lazy and auto-replying with a template email), yet today I get a letter from CH saying they are unable to obtain a new supply of those 3 movies, and that my order for them has been CANCELLED !!! It's stamped as January 6th, exactly one month after I placed my order (Dec. 6th). If I knew this ahead of time, I probably wouldn't have placed the order.

Worst part is, are these movies CANCELLED and no longer available (based on the letter), OR are they simply OoS at the moment (based on the CS e-mail) ????!!!! WHICH IS IT? Again, CH with the inconsistencies...

"I_Love_Flicks", can you please tell the Customer Service people to stop sending auto-replies from template emails and actually give TRUE status of an order? Also, can you please tell them to somehow stop sending CONTRADICTING information to the customer? Apparently, my movies are CANCELLED AND CANNOT BE OBTAINED AND CH EXPECTS NEW SUPPLY SHORTLY and will SHIP WHEN AVAILABLE

I love getting 12 dollar blurays as much as the next guy, but how is this so "cheap" and "worth the hassle" for movies which you CANNOT EVEN GET ???
