i made three orders yesterday afternoon (korea time)
kung fu panda, wall e (3 disc set), iron man

transformers, speed racer, incredible hulk

21, madagascar, blow

i sent in 3 separate emails to get the 'promotion price' and two were honored immediately (within minutes). they didnt honor it on the 2nd order...i contacted them this morning and they replied within a few minutes telling me no and that i referenced a nonexistant sale.

so i sent an email telling them that they already honored 2/3 and also included a picture of the email. not long later i received an email dropping the price of hulk. worked out well because that was actually the most expensive movie in the order.

overall, this was a good 'sale'...even though it was human error. and as usual, amazons customer service was pretty awesome too. minus that person that told me no...

That's why I took advantage of this deal by ordering box sets. You rarely see box sets in a Buy 3 for 2 deals.
Actually they used to show up regularly in the sales during the format war but the caveat was that you usually didn't have 3 boxsets eligible for the sale. So you wouldn't be able to get the free item to be a boxset unlike here.

I ordered around 1 PM yesterday and finally received an email back just now. They gave me the email saying it was human error and the sale was over but I wrote them back saying I ordered within the time frame and many other people got the same deal, so unless I receive the discount I'll just cancel the order.

Send another e-mail to the promotions department.

I'm surprised so many people bought stuff in stock. Guess you missed out on the B1G1 sale at columbia house? This deal was only really good if you used it on box sets or disney stuff that columbia house can't get.

Oddly, I just received a response (to what, I'm not sure, as they didn't quote me) that apologized for the error, and explained they were afraid they couldn't extend the offer to me, and included all the new terms now listed on the ad page "details" link.

Of course, adjustments have long since gone through on my re-grouped pre-orders and my two "3 for 2" orders of in-stock titles have already shipped. Checking my account, they didn't take any of my deals away. Maybe they just want to warn people not to try and get "slick" with their pre-orders. And right they should.

So those of you still looking to hear something, you might be disappointed.

What kind of deals were to be had at CH? I managed some great in-stock titles for less than $13 each (especially with Prime's fast free shipping and no tax) which seems just fine to me. I've paid as much or more for used in the trade forum. Even there it's hard to find good 's less than $15. The CH offer was better?

(forgive me for not reading the whole CH thread )

My UPS guy should get a chuckle Wednesday. I've got 5 different boxes (11 dif. items) due (all from Amazon). Of course, I was able to warn him as he also delivered one today. I think I need an intervention.
