This is most likely Amazon's counter to Fry's most recent Fox sale.
An attempt to compete, without having to actually lower Fox prices to Fry's level.
So instead of getting them for 14.99 each, and only having to buy the ones you want, instead you get to pay 18.63 each (for the 27.95 titles), and need to find 3 that you "might" want.
The advanage being (unless you live in NY), you pay no tax (saving you maybe a buck), and you pay no money for gas (saving maybe 3 bucks). So it's not really as bad as it looks. But I think they could have done better.

I'm personally waiting on price drops again from Fox before buying anything more from them. Usually there's a sale right after the price drops, too.

The sale is OK.

$18.60 each for 3 fox titles is a good price.

At this point However we've been spoiled by amazon sales during the format war. ALOT of those amazon sales was sony or other blu-ray studios doing a sale and amazon passing the savings on to the customers.

I think I'll just start a huge list of my wants and hold out for another Columbia house b1g1. Worked out great for me last time considering i has 12 titles on my wish list and got them all around $13 each.

There's going to be a push for Blu, so I believe we will see good holiday sales this season, so I'm willing to sit it out and see what happens.

Wow, what do you know, a bunch of the same movies that just sold for $13.99 at Frys. Some of these are $20-25 each.

Not too much of a sale. The $27.xx titles work out to about $18.xx apiece.. Still too much.. If it was a BOGO at those prices I would bite, but not B2G1.

I'll just scoop up a couple of the WB titles for 13.95 instead.

Although I keep my eye out for the Amazon sales, I'll usually buy from private sellers if I can get a movie I want in the $15.00 range. The cost per movie from Amazon on these types of sales usually averages out close to that so it's basically the same thing.

Getting Eraser for $13.95 -5% discount was one of the easier decisions.

What 5% discount is that?

Back in late 2006 Amazon offered a 10% discount on all Hi-def media. It continued throughout 2007. In 2008 it was reduced to 5%.

From what I've heard from other people, I think it continues until you reach $500 spent.

I grabbed Master & Commander, Patton and Battle of Britain.

I bought A Bridge Too Far and Longest Day from Fry's online during their $14.99 sale but when I added $6.03 shipping it was only 62 cents less on average than this sale.

That is what Sharktooth was saying that the Amazon discount for HD media was 10% through 2007. It has been 5% since the beginning of this year and there is not a money limit on the 5% discount. I have spent well over a thousand dollars since the beginning of my discount and I still get it.
