Default Panasonic DMP-BD30K for $299.99 shipped

On Amazon, everyone knows what this player is all about. Lowest price I have seen so far.

Man... So tempting. I think I am going to hold out for a BD35 or 50 though.

Everyone knows that the Panny's are the best BD player, I own 2 of the Panny's BD10 and BD30. Never have to update firm yet..... ( well once on the BD10 year ago when i first got it )

Had a Sammy but I would rather go HD DVD now instead of owning a Sammy. Garbage

Well, I think everyone knows that the PS3 is the best BD player , but Panny has definitely made the best standalones.

aahhhh I disagree my Ps3 with the latest firmware suck arse compared to my Panny's. Even some Imports take longer to load in my PS3.. It's really just a gamer setup...

AV Enthusiasts, A/V Magazines, and A/V review sites all seem to disagree with you.

Also, the BD-30 is slow as HELL compared to the PS3. Seriously, it's not even close.

I've had a PS3 for two years now as well(since launch), and I've only played 1 game on it(resistance, at launch).

Sorry ,didn't mean to thread hijack. As I said, Panny's are FANTASTIC standalone units, so don't get me wrong on that. I'm putting serious thought into getting the bd35 once it's out.

I have both the BD30 and the PS3 (which I've never put a game into), and hands down without a doubt prefer my BD30

This is a great deal, and I'm tempted to pick up another as I need a 3rd BluRay player, but I think i'll wait till I can get a Panny 2.0 player that's about the same price...

Same here. I own the ps3 and the bd30 and prefer the panny for picture quality and sound quality since I bitstream the advanced audio to my receiver.

No offense, but how the hell can you prefer the BD-30 over the PS3? It has slower load times, SAME PQ and AQ(whether you want to admit it or not. There's also no difference between bitstreaming(receiver decodes) and internal decoding that PS3 does), can't stream music video and pictures, and is only profile 1.1.

My roomate owns a BD-30 and we both definitely agree that the PS3 is where it's at at the moment. Again, all professional reviewers agree on this as well...

The Playstation 3 is incredibly ugly and doesn't look at home in an entertainment rack.
