Default Paramount Offers $10 Rebate for DVD Owners

Via Blu-Ray.com

Paramount Home Entertainment will soon offer DVD owners $10 via mail-in-rebate when they purchase select Blu-ray titles. These titles include 'Transformers' (Sep 2), 'The Godfather: The Coppola Restoration' (Sep 23), and 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' (Oct 21). Additionally, the rebate applies to the currently unannounced titles 'Old School', 'Stardust', and 'Zodiac'.

No additional information is known about the unannounced releases, though we expect to hear something soon

I paid $10 for the Transformers HD DVD. Wonder if that counts?

LOL doubtful.

what i wonder: what they're requiring. i have both xformers and sweeney dvd's, and have both on order from the CH b1g1, but i would be willing to bet they want store receipt or amazon type packer, so CH loses out. oh well.

I never said I didn't like it, I said I, can't remember what I said, but I didn't say that . It just wasn't my favorite but I have a lot of movies that's not my favorite .

I like Gremlin Get them to change the "Member" under my name to "The Pre-Order Gremlin" I'm for real ... Take the "G" off the end of my name to so it will be just "Randell"

doh

i just cleaned out all my dvd cases. Decided to dump all my cases and put dvds in binders. Only keeping hd dvd and blu ray cases now. I might attempt to do this with my cds now. Gets a bit ridiculous in my home due to all the vinyl, cassettes, videos, dvds, cds, video games, etc

i wont be selling any of them. I got rid of all the titles i didnt want already. I know it hurt their value but for me the space it created is much more valuable to me

Ya know, that's not a half bad idea! I have a box full of standard def DVDs sitting in my den that represents titles I've replaced with either HD DVD or Blu-ray. More will be added to that box with time and I'll someday sell or donate them. But there will always be a fair number or SD DVDs that I will never bother to replace with hi-def versions (heck, some of them may NEVER see hi-def versions). I could free up a LOT of space by simply putting them in a CD binder.

Hmmmm....

Mark

P.S. Maybe I should just start ripping them (the standard def DVDs) to my home theater PC (Mac Mini with external HD). I'd need to upgrade the hard drive but I've got a couple of extra IDE drives laying around in a drawer somewhere anyway.

BTW, sorry for the topic drift!

Default Does Paramount Require Receipt?

If this program is like Disney's rebates, they require a receipt as well as a UPC code or tab.

I can't always locate the actual receipt for these items.

it worked out great for me. I had well over 3000 dvds and it was killing me especially now when you factor in over 400 blu rays and 100 hd dvds. With no sign of me letting up on my ordering, something had to be done. Now I have 3 huge binders and so much more space. Granted, it'd be nice to have all the cases but it just was too much clutter. I never plan on selling any of them so it works out for me. I still kept tv shows and certain special editions in their cases. But titles like the old warners went right into the binder.

disney only requires the receipt of the blu rays not the original dvds. I would assume paramount will do the same.
