The Wizard of Oz is now down to $51.99.

My pre-order is showing $54.99. Does anyone know when my pre-order price will drop?

When it ships and only if the price they are selling it is still lower.

Best bet is to cancel and reorder.

You can call em up and ask for an adjustment... ymmv

Not true. At time of shipping (or shortly afterwards - sometimes you will get charged the higher price and then get it credited back within a day), you will be given the lowest pre-order price, regardless of what the price is at the time.

not my experience with Amazon. I have never ever gotten an email from Amazon about getting a lower price, that's Amazon in the US.

I have gotten emails from Amazon JP thou about stuff I ordered and getting charged for less.

can i request that this list be Region A only? sometimes i see Blade I and II and i get really excited only to realize that they are imports and NOT "official" releases. sometimes imports are quite different, Pan's Labyrinth for example has no lossless audio, Blade I is open matte and so was Fight Club and Se7en, whereas the official Region A releases is properly framed 2.4 scope on all 3 of those.

With respect, all the titles listed here by ruvic are listed on Amazon.com. Even the Canadian imports are Region A. Region A is not just restricted to US titles, it comprises of many other countries as well, Canada included. Other international members will be offended by your remarks regarding "official" releases. Just because a minority of the listed titles are not US releases DO NOT make them unofficial releases.

It is up to subscribers of this thread to check the specific details of the titles they are interested in themselves. Ruvic is doing us all a great service updating this thread with price drops. I for one would prefer that all titles (including IMPORTS) are listed. You have to bring up the title page to order the title anyway, how hard can it be to check if the title is an import or not?

Jedi

Perhaps you are missing the purpose of this thread? I totally agree that a lot of the Canadian Alliance releases are in the wrong aspect ratio. Running Scared is one good example and NO I don't own the Canadian release, I own the German release that has the proper OAR.

In a way, you are asking ruvic to analyse all the titles he is listing to ensure that imports are not included. By your rationale, if a US release contains the wrong aspect ratio, or is missing lossless audio, then these titles should not be listed on this thread? I can think of many "official" US releases that do not have lossless audio, does that mean those titles should be excluded from this thread as well?

This thread is to list price drops on blu-ray titles listed on amazon.com, the technical specifications of the individual titles should have nothing to do with it.

In any case, it is best that we no longer debate this on this thread. The MOD note on the first page specifically states that this thread is only intended for listing price drops ONLY. I am visualising project-blu letting his "Great White" loose on us soon if we don't stop

Unfortunately, its going to be the members responsibility to check if this is an official release or what not. But feel free to post this kind of information so other people would know about it.
