Default Cheapest place to get a PS3?

Hey, looking to get another PS3 for my Dad as a blu-ray player only and have a few weeks left until his birthday. Does anyone know of any deals that they have for a new PS3 or anything, Maybe a free game or gift card or what not...Thanks in advance.

The K-Mart 10% promo code has just ended, so the SonyStyle $100 credit is the only discount on the PS3 I am aware of at the moment...

Find a friend or someone you know who works at target, wal-mart, compusa, best buy, circuit city or any place that sells a ps3 and ask them nicely to hook you up with one using their discount. Most places only give 10% but even then it is still a good deal.

Yeah, that was my original plan, but you have to buy something 299.99 in order to get 100 on your next purchase...so really I'm buying 2 things over 300 which doesn't really save me money when there is nothing else I want from them...

Aren't they all gone basically? I thought the 80G was out of stock and the SN gone because there is a replacement coming with a presumably larger disc. Other than bundles, I haven't seen too many deals for new ones.

Sony Style ( www.sonystyle.com ) you can get the 40gb for $299 or the 80gb w/ MGS for $399 if you apply for, get, and use their credit card to buy it.

If you apply for same freaking CC here:

http://www.sony.com/sonycard/ps3

you can buy PS3 on amazon and save on sales tax (if you have any) and shipping (as well as you can buy anything above $299 anywhere). But you need to wait till you get CC in mail (1 week).

Did it twice already == once for PS3 and once for Receiver

Unless the deal has changed, you get a $100 credit on your first purchase, not your second. I used this deal to get my PS3 back in January and it's the only thing I've put on the sony card so far. I even got my $100 credit before the system arrived.

I bought my PS3 back in December (at a Sony Style store, rather than going through Amazon) and I still haven't gotten my statement credit.

I called them, like, two weeks ago and they said someone would look into why my account hadn't been credited and send me a response in the mail within 7-10 days. I've yet to see anything from them in the mail.

As soon as I get my statement credit and Sony releases a Blu disk that I consider worthy of spending my points on, I'm closing the account.

At GameCrazy (which are usually located next to Hollywood Video) you get 12 free rentals at Hollywood Video. You have the option for a warranty. Then they let you Buy2 Get1 Free on the games. Good deal as the rentals are good on movies, blu-rays and games.
