blu-ray steals in Boston
Hey folks, I just stopped in to CEX, a new store on Winter Street, near Tremont. They sell video games, movies, music, computer equipment, you name it...and everything they sell is used. I was able to pick up the Spider-Man trilogy for $35. Most of their blu-ray and HD stock was around $12-$15...they don't have everything in stock, but they do have quite a few good movies. I remember seeing all the Harry Potter movies there for $12 (each) I believe, and the Die Hard box set was going for $45. So if you're near Park Street at all, do yourself a favor and stop in there, you might find something you like!

I've never even heard of CEX. Is this near Downtown Crossing? Are the used discs in good shape?

The store just opened a few months ago. All the discs are kept behind the counter, and when I went to purchase the Spidey movies, the guy at the counter went and got them, and proceeded to show me the back of each disc without me asking. This was the first time I've been in there, but the discs I got looked to be in perfect shape. I was very impressed. And yes, it's near downtown crossing....if you walk up Winter Street toward Park, the store is on the left near the Sovereign bank.

CEX are a UK store selling used computer peripherals, DVDs and cellphones that have recently opened in the States. i used to spend a ridiculous amount of money on DVDs and PC components when i lived back home in London and since i found out a couple of weeks ago that they are now over here, i know i'm going to be broke before too long.
fortunately the NY store has yet to stock DVDs or Blu-Ray, otherwise i'd be in serious trouble... -

I would definitely be careful with quality. From my last trip there a few weeks ago they had the discs stored behind the counter without sleeves and clerks were just flipping through them to find the right disc. The two I was interested in were both pretty scratched up (I had to ask this guy to look at them). So it seems to be a hit and miss thing. They must have also lowered their prices since I recall most HDM being $20. Will check them out again though. . .

Will have to check it out as my local Newbury Comics hasn't gotten any good used Blus in lately.
