Default 5 Free Blu-Ray DVDs

Just noticed in the fine print of the mail-in rebate form for the 5 free Blu-Ray discs that "store receipt must be from the same state as the consumer address". Does that mean if you purchased your Blu-Ray player from someone like amazon.com, that you are not eligible for the 5 free movies?

Yikes I hope not! I bought my player 15 miles from home in WV, but home is in KY. I will be pretty unhappy if it's denied for this reason.

KY ought to be reason enough.

I ordered mine from Amazon as well. I will be watching this thread to see if anyone did receive their free movies if purchasing a player from amazon.

If you are denied, then I suggest writing a livid email to Amazon seeing as they are advertising theie players with those free mail-in-movies. Least they could do is send you five free movies to take place of the mail in ones. But I'm guessing all will be fine. I

Well Amazon.com promotes this deal and I downloaded the rebate off Amazon.com so they should accept it. Although if your player was shipped to CA and you want your movies shipped to NY then they might deny it. But otherwise you should be fine.

Because you'd pay taxes for which ever state they are shipped to, they have to honor the rebate, as a in state purchase.

The amazon receipt included in the box has your shipping address on it, so as long as the 2 match it shouldn't be a problem.

bought my ps3 off of sonystyle.com, called today to check status of rebate, rep said that they should be shipping in the next 3-5 days

so i guess that it doesn't matter if you bought it online as long as the receipt matches your address..

Angry Sent off for mine back in July

Well I have been waiting for my 5 free movies since July. I keep calling the 1800 number and they tell it it is in processing.
Guess I will be getting them when the new ODVD(organic)players arrive in 2010.
This is why I detest mail in anything. Why don't they just give them to you at the time of purchase.

Yep!

Anyone got the number that you can call for status updates handy? Who is actually sponsoring the rebate? I think it's Buena Vista Home Entertainment, but I don't have the form anymore.
