$299 puts the price nearly equal to HD DVD 1080p players... Looks like I'll soon be able to sell my PS3 and get a stand-alone...

My price now shows $297.00, that still is a good price, is it a good player?

I just got an LG 1080P 37" LCD just itching for a 1080P player in my bedroom and I don't want a PS3 that the kids will play with all day.

Amazon itself is selling it for $297 but if you click on featured merchants Electronics Expo still has it for $273.

I wonder if Samsung is lowering their prices? Vanns also has the 1400 for $299 and I checked BestBuy and they have lowered the BDP 1200 price to $299.

the $273 price had a $19 shipping charge

the $297 includes shipping so it's basically the same deal.

this one is tempting me big time, I have been waiting for the UP 5000, but the 1400 for under 300 bucks, this is a good deal. If Amazon starts up a deal with some extra free discs that may be the clincher. I have an old 5.1 system that has no digital inputs but I hear the sound still kicks ass from analog.

Nice price, but its not profile 1.1. Show me a 1.1 player at this price and I will defiantly get one.

Good move for bluray. Those who say the format skirmish is hurting the average consumer has some 'splaining to do. Never would buy the player though; for an extra 100 for the ps3 buys some compatablity peace of mind (yes, I know not perfect but the most vetted)

Have all playback issues been resolved with this player? Also does it bitstream TrueHD and DTS-MA? I might sell my 80 gig for one of these.
