With a little luck and some help from my (third or fourth now) free Amazon Prime trial, these two double-pointers should finally put me where I need to be to snag that Blu player. Actually I was on the fence as to whether I really was enough of a completist to buy HOTR...the double points were one factor that forced my decision.

I've never seen HOTR, but part of me can't believe it could possibly be that terrible. In my imagination, I get it, watch it, and end up thinking "if this same thing were released now, with CGI by Dreamworks or another non-Pixar studio, everybody would be fawning all over it, calling it phrases like delightfully zany or wildly entertaining, taking billions of children to see it, and naming it the must-preorder Blu-ray title of the month"...

But I am also prepared for it to, in fact, be that terrible.

Well, I went in with low expectations and I didn't feel it was all that bad. I might even call it "not half bad". I fell asleep with about 30 mins left due to exhaustion and finished the rest today, so I had a disjointed viewing experience; maybe that helps? =p But in all honesty if you think of it as a light comedy, and don't expect a Disney classic, I thought it worked well enough...I thought certain things were actually creative (like the yodeling villain) and amusing to a degree (like his nephews, the random Sling Blade reference, Lucky Jack). Interesting art style too. Far less ashamed to own it than I expected to be.

Anyway, jackpot! Finally got that Blu player. Hope it isn't DOA, and keeps working for at least a couple years. Not sure how well they will ship that thing.
