Got the America Lost for $52.99 on some sale last April. This is a great price.
I can't beleive how expensive Farscape remains. -

I bought Farscape when it was on sale in January for 50 cents more.
I sort of regret buying it now. I've made it halfway through season 2 and watching it has been more of a chore than an enjoyable experience. I don't want to be a negative Nancy, but in what seems like a sea of nothing but praise for this show (on teh interwebs), I ended up finding it mostly awful. My favorite space-drama sci-fi TV shows have been Star Trek TNG/DS9/VOY and the new BSG. I'm also a fan of comedies like Red Dwarf, and Futurama.
I gave Babylon 5 a full viewing a few years back, and ended up hating almost everything about it -- its one redeeming quality was the Londo/Vir/Centauri plot arc (which probably amounted to less than 10% of the series, all told) and everything else was horribly amateur and at times so boring I watched it at a speed of 2x just to get through.
Now I'm trying out Farscape and so far the only redeeming qualities have been Scorpius (Wayne Pygram's acting makes him by far the most intriguing supporting character on the show; unfortunately he's just that -- supporting, and seldom present so far) and possibly Pilot (who seems like the most interesting main character, while being the one with the least screen time or development). I have pretty much found everything else to be god-awful, nauseatingly bad at times -- the writing, acting, premises, execution, etc. I wouldn't even consider it science fiction, most of the time it is pure fantasy which would be fine if it were any good. Too bad I always commit myself to finishing what I start; but in this case I'm seriously considering just stopping where I am and selling it off.
So basically the moral of the bitch-fest is, don't feel bad if it isn't in your price range yet; IMO there are better things to spend your time watching?

Yah I may just go the DVD route with it.
I would RATHER have and pay for a DS9 blu ray set. I've seen TNG enough times I don't need it in blu ray, as much as that was my favorite show, I just watched those episodes so many times. But DS9 had a better overarching story and amazing character development.
Babylon 5 was just awesome. I'm sorry you didn't like it. That show just blew my mind when I saw it. -

So I guess the lesson is the caveats about blind-buys. I guess there's a good argument for doing an educated buy.

Different strokes... I mentioned it as an example of something that left me underwhelmed along with the examples I like so maybe it might help someone with similar tastes make a Farscape decision.
Yep...I always try to do my research. But in the case of these two shows I whined about, most of what you'll find in terms of reviews seem to be from apparently rabid fans who can find no faults.
After this, I just have to decide whether to some day take the Stargate plunge. That's a lot to commit to.Pan 65" Plasma TC-P65V10 / Onk 7.1 TX-SR607 / Onk DV-HD805 / Pan DMP-BD60 / Tosh XD-E500
