    Those selections are pretty weak.

Damn. I just bought a PS3...I may take it back next week and just repurchase it or something just so I can have a different date on my receipt. If only I had waited another week or so. Lame.

    Yup...

Five Free Blu-ray Movies with Purchase of Player

    http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=280

The Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) has revealed an exciting offer for those of you who are still looking to pick up a Blu-ray player. If you purchase a Blu-ray player (including the PS3) between July 1st and September 30th, you will automatically qualify to receive 5 Blu-ray movies absolutely free. Combine this with existing offers (like the 5 free Blu-ray movies with purchase of a Panasonic DMP-BD10A), and you could receive up to 10 free Blu-ray movies with the purchase of a player.

But wait, there's more! If you decide you would like to purchase a PS3, Sony is offering a special deal through their retail Sony Style stores. Purchase a PS3, two games, and an extra controller from now until July 8th, and you will receive a $50 gift card.

Rebate information can be found at the following site:

    www.bluraysavings.com

The site isn't up yet, but expect it to go live when the deal starts this weekend.
Hmmm, can you say, sales spike!

A $50 gift card for spending $800, what a bargain.
The 5 free BR movies don't count on Nielsen, so how is their going to be a spike?

I've been looking into getting a BD Player, probably a PS3. This promotion sounds decent, even if the titles are terrible.

Raaagh. That sucks that it's only in the US... I was planning on buying a PS3 late July... Do you know whether or not I can buy it then give an American address? I've got friends in the states, and they could post the movies to me (In Canada) if I could get them sent...

only ones i like on it are:

    - Resident Evil 2
    - Underworld Evolution
    - Kiss of the Dragon
    - The Transporter 2
    - The Guardian
    - Pearl Harbor
    - Invincible
    - Blazing Saddles
    - The Italian Job
    - Black Rain
    - Babel

hmm.... maybe not... j/k there are decent titles on this list. but for a mainstream buyer, it's just ok. but thats why you pick and choose from different catagories. so you get something u like

The only movies I really like on the list are Corpse Bride and Stir of Echoes. Still, free movies are free movies, so I may just take them up on the offer.
