Jaws 3D Blu-Ray Retracted from market?
Not long ago, I remember the news section stating that Jaws 3D was going to be released the same day as the 2D counterpart, on August 14th I believe. Blu-ray dot com also had an article mentioning pre-orders for the movie. Amazon doesn't have a pre-order on their site, and blu-ray dot com's jaws 3d page says no release date is given any more. What's the word? Did the studio already cancel Jaws 3D, or did a few sites jump the gun without verification in reporting that jaws 3D was coming out?

Have not read or heard anything to the contrary. Hope it is not true. I'm looking forward to picking up the 3D version of it.

Since Jaws 3 was also called Jaws 3D, kind of like how Amitiville 3 was also called Amityville 3D, even on the 2D release, it's very likely that the 2D version is going to be released and there may not be any plans to release Jaws 3 on blu-ray 3D at all. Just High def digest taking the original article offline, as well as blu-ray dot com taking the pre-orders and release date offline really does point to them both jumping the gun. Big disappointment. Hope I'm wrong though, because I had this marked on my calender as a day one buy.

Holy smokes I didn't even know that Jaws 3D had a release date. Frankly I can't imagine this not being released in 3D. Let's be honest, the movie stinks out loud (this coming from a fan); the 3D gimmicks and nostalgia are what's going to sell this thing. A 2D only release would fall on its face and hit the $7.99 bargain bin in no time.
