Cool Thor 3D Bluray 1st week sales = 70,000 units

Thor and Thor 3D sold a combined 500,000 Blu-ray copies during the first week of their Sept. 13 release. 3D Blu-ray represented 14% of the title’s total sales with the BD/DVD combo pack accounting for the remaining 86%.

First time I have ever seen sales data for a 3D BD title other than for the Nightmare Before Xmas (which was just under 20,000 units). That 14% translates to 70,000 units.

Hmm does that whole 500K number sound a bit.. not so great? I would have thought that Thor would move a little more than that. Any event, I suppose 14% of BD sales for the 3D version is pretty good for an emerging format.

Very interesting to finally get some sales figures for sure. Thanks for posting Lee.

it probably would have moved more than that. AHEM, high MSRP, ahem.

and 70k means that 70k people didn't read my review. Thor 3D = blah. only good part of that set is that it includes Thor 2D.

Count me in on one of the 14% as well. I did not think the 3D was that bad from what reviews I read.

I wouldn't know yet. No 3d tv at the moment. Just future proofing my collection. Plus, after a $5 credit from Amazon, it ended up costing the same or less than the 2d version.

Also one of the 14%, but still have not tried out the 3D.
Picked up Green Lantern 3D today and have the new Pirates set up for release day delivery on Tues.
