Had 6 guest over to my theater last night for John Carter 3D. I only have 6 pair of shutter glasses, so guess who had to go without... Fortunately, I had already seen it in my theater once before with another group, so I was not feeling quite so neglected... lol.
FEEL an awesome 3D Blu-ray movie in the Frey Theater - Now featuring projection in glorious "FREYMAX" 3D!

I just watched Sanctum. Now, this is not a great film; I enjoy it mainly because the father-son relationship resonates with me. Roger Ebert, the greatest film critic of all time, is wrong (an oh-so-rare occurrence) regarding the 3D element here.

For me, watching Sanctum in 3D is a totally different, and markedly improved, experience. I never knew a movie could make me feel such claustrophobia; I fondly recall Neil Marshall's The Descent, and wonder what that film would be like in a 3D format.

As I stated earlier, Sanctum is by no means a great motion picture. But it is one worth seeing, and that is no small achievement.

I didn't like the first movie very much is the new one any better.

Tough call. I like there was more action in Wrath. But they dont last long because the pacing of the movie was fast ,imo, and if you blinked you missed it. Clash had a bit more slower pace allowing you to soak up the action scenes and the scenes that led up to the action. I think I like Wrath a bit more...but just a bit...only because Clash was a remake and Wrath was a different story, imo.

    Default B-Movies in 3D

Last night I indulged my need for one of my guilty pleasure films. Subsequently, I had the very distinct pleasure of re-watching Piranha 3D. It is, in my view, the greatest B-movie of all time. A friend of mine said that title belongs to Escape from New York, but that was back in the day, and by that I mean I'm 24 and hadn't even been born yet.

For MY generation, as well as society being the way it is TODAY, Piranha 3D fits the "B-movie"-bill, if you will.

Honk if you love tits and gore.

    Honk honk.

I like it as well. Seen it a few times already. There were a lot of funny ''bits'' (sorry...pun intended) from Jerry (?) character in the flick.

As soon as I get my projector set-up, ill probably watch Tron: Legacy again. But as far as a first time watch goes that will be Hugo, I hear the opening is rather impressive in 3D.

Resident Evil: Afterlife. Such a great 3D Blu experience. Never gets old. Looking forward to the upcoming Resident Evil flick that will be in theaters later this month.

I love this series also, guilty pleasure for me. If my wife and I can get a babysitter we will be in the theater opening weekend for the new movie.

Yeah.....guilty pleasure for me as well. Hard to believe they made 4 of these with a 5th on the way...and each one gets bigger (in scale and in the visuals) than the last. Retribution looks like the be all end all of the lot of them.

I just love the way Afterlife looks and moves. So artistic...like watching art in motion in some of the scenes. Slo mo scenes are really cool. Retribution looks like it will be more of the same.

You will have to let me know how the flick is when you see it Kalel...you will more and likely see it before I will.

My personal favorite RE movie was the first one, but I've been a fan of the whole series and have vowed to see them all at their theatrical releases. When Retribution was first announced, they were going to do back-to-back filming on it and the final film that would feature Alice's character, although the series was suppose to continue on without her.

Although characters like Jill and Claire could be obvious female protagonists in RE 7, I would prefer someone like K-Mart, someone who's a little more naive and vulnerable, to grow up and blossom and become the leading zombie destroying lady.

I agree with you about K-mart. That would be a great transitional character, going from Alice to K-mart, and seeing K-mart evolve into a character more badass than Alice.

Course she would have to change her name, lol. Maybe she could be called Wal-mart or Kroger, lol.
