At launch, running through an undisclosed period of time, the disc will only be available to consumers who purchase a Panasonic 3D Viera plasma TV. The promotional offer will likely take the form of a variety of bundles onto the purchase of Viera 3D TVs and related equipment, although exact details are still to be announced, the company said.

I am excited for this release! I think it could be possible that it is free with 3DTV purchase, as it mentioned that they will try to do good to previous Panasonic 3DTV customers....rather than just an incentive to buy more glasses. Eh, either way I guess it is fine.

OH my god when are they going to stop this exclusive BS? It's doing nothing but slow the 3d market. Yes, it may help sell those particular TVs but 3dtvs in general will slow in sales when the average consumer can't get the 3d movies they want without buying a new TV. At least there's ebay....

Question however, will these 3d Avatars be the extended edition or original theatrical edition?

I just don't get the home 3D hype.

Get back to me in 5 years when the TVs don't require glasses.

I don't even want to think about how much this thing will go for on Ebay... will cost a small fortune to buy a copy online I bet.

if THIS IS IT can pull 300 bucks, AVATAR will easily pull 5 when it first comes out. it's going to be RIDICULOUS.

PANNY BETTER do a fucking program for those of us who already bought in to their product.

That's why I was wondering what the VIERRA 3D TV Loytalty program is. That is mentioned in that page posted above that says for people who bought a TV prior to December 1st with mailing in their receipt.

I'm shocked that you're not already an owner. You're very active in the 3D forums here and other site(s). I thought you were an early adopter.

I'm surprised to see this come to 3D so soon. On one hand, it makes sense as part of the 3D (and X-Mas push. On the other hand, Cameron recently made remarks about this November release being the last release until the 3D release (sometime over the next 2-3 years).
