day one. 40 msrp sounds great. Dimension label, that would be Vivendi/Weinstein, so here's hoping their first 3D BD is a good one!

Saw this one in 3D a few months ago... pretty awesome (in a mega shark kinda way). The 3D was pretty awesome though so I have high hopes for this release!

    This is a Blu-ray 3D listing? Or just a regular Blu-ray listing with 3D (Ala, red/blue glasses)?

It's a Stereoscopic 3D BD and not an Anaglyph 3D BD

Taken for what it is, the movie wasn't bad. The 3D sucked though. I know they had to convert due to the underwater, but this was maybe THE most underwhelming 3D flick (in terms of 3D) that I've seen yet.

They shoot native 3D underwater all the time. It was just a 2D to 3D conversion as that was cheaper than shooting in native 3D.

Will this include a BD or will it be 'on the disc'?

I hear a sequel has already been greenlit! After the ending how could they not have a sequel. I can see this release being like cloudy and monster house, one disc that works on both 2D and 3D players.

if they want 3d releases to be successful, they should do that, yes. we shouldn't pay a premium when it's still just a BD50 disc. hell, even a BD25 sometimes.

If you buy the 3D blu-ray can you enjoy it in 2D until you get the 3D equipment on your existing TV and player?

New, more expensive authoring is required for a 3D BD.
