Best Buy Co. will offer exclusively the full high-definition release of My Bloody Valentine 3D on Blu-ray Disc, when the horror film is re-released Oct. 5 for $17.99, according to a store clerk.

yeah, money bet that right there is a misinformed clerk.

it's in the ad for that week, 34.99 clear as day. i bet they thought the original release, 17.99 sounds about right.

That sucks that it's going to be $35... I've managed to get every 3d disc to date with the exception of ice age 3 (traded my Disney showcase disc + $10 for Coraline) and for a film that isn't exactly a "Hey kids, come over and watch this with me" type of movie $35 is pretty high.

I don't mind spending a bit more for a film like Cloudy the other titles because I'll have others sitting around enjoying it with me. With MBV it's just myself which is pretty boring and a one or two time thrill at that. I'll jump on it if I have some RZ cash or a coupon ready but otherwise I"ll be waiting for a price drop

The store clerk probably just looked at the listing for the regular release:

The price of the disc will drop within the next few weeks in my opinion.

amazon has them up cheaper, while wbshop is 35.

they're going to milk this premium format for a while.

Still beats the 100+ ebay price range but at retail... ouch... I think Blu-ray and HD DVDs cost about this much when they first hit stores back in 06/07. Hopefully price will level out in a year or so.

i hope this guy isn't a member here, because he's pure scalping scum. 50 buck profit (minus fees, closer to 42) on a title that is just a STORE exclusive? seriously?

talk about trying to mislead people, by saying EXCLUSIVE, rather than STORE exclusive. fucking awful.

The release is quite mediocre imo.....some moments are spectacular and then the next scene is just so dull. Very uneven imo.

How's that any different than those here who sell steelbooks at horribly inflated prices?
