Gaming using 2>3d conversion.Any good?
i want to get a 63 inch Samsung 3d.I am very interested in how effective 2>3d
conversion is with console gaming, especially 1st person shooters,I never watch TV and I have no interest in kids movies, and ,given the lack of 3d content available right now , the TV would only be used for gaming.
Has anyone played any fps games using the 2>3d conversion?Any good?
What about other types of games?Or should I wait until there is a good selection of actual 3d games, and then get a 3d TV?
The people in the shops wont hook up a ps3 or xbox to show me. -

I have a Samsung PN50C7000 50-Inch 1080p 3D Plasma HDTV and have not tried alot with it yet but I did play Uncharted 2 using the 2D->3D conversion and it seems to work great adds some depth, not as much as the native 3D but still pretty good I will let you know once I get a chance to play more with I am wanting to play some Resident Evil 5 with it later in 3D with the move controls.

Welcome to the site
.I have tried 2>3D conversion on games and movies. I have a Sony 55'' LED 3D. It is good on movies..tried Up and Star Trek (2009). You can adjust the 3D effect under 3D settings. It was ok for games...tried GOW collection and Dead Rising 2. However...games that support 3D (Black Ops) is awesome. Great sense of depth. More eye strain on 3D games than 3D movies because not every scene is 3D in a movie...a 3D game is constant 3D so it is a bit more intense..at least for me. I have to game in small increments when gaming in 3D. I played Natzi Zombie on Black Ops for a couple of hours (one match) and I was getting a major headache to the point where I had to quit playing it. Was not due to extended gaming sessions (only play 4 hours a night maybe 2x a week)...it was the 3D.
You could wait for a good selection if you wanted to. This year you have Killzone 3D, Motorstorm: Apocolypse 3D, Crysis 3D and maybe a few more. Up to you of course. Good luck.My mancave:

Yes, welcome to the site! I have played around with the 2D-3D on my TV a few times and have found mixed results. I really liked the added depth in Forza 4 and Halo Reach, not as good as playing COD Black opps in stereoscopic 3D but still fun from time to time. I didn't like the conversion for games like The Force Unleashed 2 and a few sports games. Guess it may depend in the viewing angles the game features. You can try and adjust the level of depth in the settings menu, maybe that will improve the experience.

Does the 2D -> 3D conversion add a processing lag to the picture? This seems like a potential downside for gameplaying.
