I was watching Harold and Kumar 2 the other day on my PS3. I was playing the DTS-HD MA track and occasionally it would make a loud hissing noise in my speakers. I was scared cuz I thought it had ruined the speakers.
. But then I put in a few movies with different codecs (Batman Begins Dolby HD) and POTC (PCM). I also put in a few movies with DTS-HD MA tracks such as I, Robot and Master and Commander. They both worked fine and were clear as a bell. Could it be something wrong with the way the audio was mastered? When I played Pan's Labyrinth on the PS3 it didn't make the loud hissing noises. Perhaps it's just the movie. Good thing I rented it. A bad movie gets a bad audio transfer
BTW, I have an Onkyo 606 as my receiver (down below)
