I don't think many would dispute 360's obvious superiority in online services and online gaming, but superior products don't always resonate with consumers.
In this case, however, it seems pretty clear that even consumers recognize the value of Live and the superiority of Live's online environment over PSN. Maybe they just have more friends on Live, maybe they like the features better - who knows, but clearly - games with a strong competitive online component do significantly better on the Xbox 360 platform... and that's pretty indicative of Microsoft's success in their strategy and execution in that space.
