After watching my DVD the other night I thought to myself how wonderful this film would be in HD.... well, wonderful isn't exactly the right word...
Anyway, MGM put together a rather great Special Edition DVD of the film that I'd love to see ported over to Blu-ray.
Give me a nice AVC/MPEG-4 encode, BD-50, DTS-HD MA and a new Yoyodyne Propulsion powered (now with 100% more over-thruster) PiP commentary and I'm good to go. Honestly they could put this on a BD-25 and it'd be fine (as long as it had a more advanced codec than MPEG-2 for the video)... most of the extras are only VHS quality anyway (because a lot of the original negatives for the extras disappeared into that same hole as Sherwood Productions) so those wouldn't take up much space.
Seriously though, as long as the looks good (at least as good as
BB can look) and has all the extras from the MGM DVD I'm happy.... I could careless about the actual specs.
This won't ever happen though.... oh well.... [sigh.]
