I freely admit that I can't stand Madonna. I respect her for her success and her artistic longevity (using the word 'artistic' loosely here), but I can't forgive her for the fact that her insipid and vapid music made growing up in the 80's hell. It didn't get any better later in her career, just look at the way she totally butchered Don Mc Lean's great song 'American Pie'. Plus, she comes across as a totally self-absorbed, arrogant and plain kooky person.
But honestly, my birthday wishes were sincere. 'Cos if she's 50 now it means she won't be around that much longer!
