Well, it might encourage us to get into blu-ray sooner to enjoy some of our older sd-dvd titles in high def that were never available in hd-dvd? I'm not worried about replacing hd-dvd's with a blu-ray as there is little point to that for most of us. I also have to believe this includes replacing older dvd releases of these titles with a blu-ray (which hopefully is why they do not require a receipt for the dvd version of the titles to get the $10?). Reading the link provided by the OP makes it seem that way to me.
